Scania planning vehicle production in Iraq
19.11.2008Scania has signed an agreement in principle with the government of Iraq on assembly of trucks and buses in that country. The contract includes an initial delivery of 500 vehicles, with production starting during the third quarter of 2009. Operations will take place under the aegis of Iraq’s State Company for Automotive Industry. www.scania.com
Tomorrow’s Volvo truck identifies dangers in advance
05.11.2008Trucks that automatically identify traffic hazards long before the driver does. This can really become a reality within the next ten years. On 22-23 October, Volvo Trucks and a number of other partners will be revealing how tomorrow’s traffic safety can be improved through new solutions for communication between vehicles and their surroundings. The demonstration will take place on a test track outside Frankfurt in Germany. www.volvo.com
