Scania and leading construction and industrial equipment manufacturer Terex, based in North America, have signed a long-term agreement which means that starting in 2011, Scania will supply engines for some vehicles and other heavy equipment manufactured and sold by Terex.

Volvo Trucks: a great order from Ethiopia

Volvo Trucks has signed an agreement to deliver trucks to Derba Cement in Ethiopia.The customer is aiming to buy approximately 1000 trucks and an order has been placed for 550 trucks to be delivered during 2010.

UPS donates 1 million dollars to Haiti

Through its humanitarian branch UPS Foundation, UPS has decided to come to the aid of the people, by making a million dollars available to help in the aftermath of the huge earthquake on January 13th. This aid will be made up of 500,000 dollars in cash and an assistance reserve of a further 500,000 dollars. The funds will be divided between The American Red Cross, Care, Unicef and other organisations.

Schmitz Cargobull launches S.CS City

German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull has launched a new product: canvas-sided semitrailer S.CS City, with just one axle. As its name suggests, it is destined to be used for urban distribution. Its load length is 11.050 metres and it can carry 27 Euro-pallets. Its manoeuvrability is largely the result of its steering axle, which gives it a turning circle of 2.7 metres, smaller than that of a standard 3-axle semitrailer.
