Major order for 160 NEOPLAN buses from Greece
21.08.2009MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has received a major order from Greece for the delivery of 160 NEOPLAN buses. Papadakis Bros. S.A., the authorized dealer of MAN Hellas Truck & Bus S.A., has sold 135 Tourliners produced by the Ankara plant in Turkey and 25 Cityliner buses from Germany, all of which will be deployed in intercity operation around Greece.
Palfinger launches new work platform
20.08.2009Palfinger, a specialist in hydraulic, loading and handling systems, is launching a new work platform – the P 220 B – in the 3.5 tonne class. It has a work height of 22 meters and a maximum reach of 14.5 meters. Made of aluminum, it offers a series of functions to facilitate ‘pick & go’, along with comfort and security features.
Kögel Big-MAXX now also available in Poland
14.08.2009The Polish government has issued special permits with no time limit for 300 extended trailers with a length of 14.92 meters for national transport. The semi-trailers, extended by 1.30 m, are being deployed in the framework of a model investigation in Poland. The approval of this large-scale investigation by the government corresponded to an application by Kögel. The German manufacturer will receive 150 of the issued permits for the supply of its extended trailers, called Big-MAXX, to Polish transport companies. The other 150 permits have been issued to the Polish manufacturer Wielton. The special permit for extended trailers costs 800 Euro per year, per vehicle, and has unlimited validity.
A one-year anniversary of Daimler Trucks’ Global Hybrid Center in Kawasaki, Japan
04.08.2009Daimler Trucks is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Global Hybrid Center (GHC) in Kawasaki. The GHC is the worldwide competence center for hybrid drive technology and its development. It was opened on August 1, 2008. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) celebrated the anniversary today at the GHC, which is housed in the R&D facilities in Kawasaki, Japan. MFTBC is an integral part of the Daimler Trucks division of Daimler AG and one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in Asia.
DAF modernises the LF
03.08.2009‘The evolution continues’. This is the slogan chosen by DAF to present the 2009 models of its LF distribution truck. A modernized cab, an optimized drive train and new options. Of particular note are the new 210 bhp 4-cylinder and 300 bhp 5-cylinder engines. The common rail injection system pressure moves up from 1600 to 1800 bar on the 4-cylinder Paccar FR and 6-cylinder Paccar GR engines. All of the 4-cylinder Paccar FR engines are also available in EEV versions. The new DAF LF range will start production in July.
