A new mid-size VITO van, which has been recently introduced by Mercedes-Benz, has already managed to occupy a leading position among vans with a permissible gross weight between 2, 8 and 3, 2 tonnes. The new VITO, as distinguished from other models in the class, compares favorably with them due to its high efficiency, low fuel consumption and the highest payload capacity. This lets us make a conclusion that the new VITO by Mercedes-Benz is a real professional vehicle, designed for the implementation of various tasks.
Operator's cab complies with the safety requirements totally. The vehicle is equipped with several airbags for the operator and the passengers. Also, the cab is quite comfortable and ergonomic. There's enough space in the cab both for the crew and the passengers. What is more, the advanced visibility improves the control over the van. The new VITO by Mercedes-Benz is truly innovative: it is the first time when a vehicle in this class is available in both a rear-wheel and a front-wheel drive. The new front-wheel drive vehicle is equipped with a compact engine with 88-114 hp. The rear-wheel drive version is equipped with an engine with 136, 163 and 190 hp.
One of the aims that the developers wanted to reach was to provide lesser fuel consumption. It can be said that they have achieved their goal: the fuel consumption level is some 20% less than for the preceding versions. Besides that, the new VITO is able to stand heavier loads and ensure operator's and passengers' safety at the same time.
