The range of maize headers by CLAAS is being expanded with the development of a new header suitable for self-propelled forage harvesters JAGUAR. This header is a new 6 m model with the help of which the process of harvesting small and medium crops is getting easier in a very significant way. The classic model ORBIS 600 is a best-seller among alike models all around the world, and the new version of it will become available in 2015.
It should be mentioned that there are 4 models of maize headers which have working widths of between 4, 5 to 9 m in the ORBIS range by CLAAS – ORBIS 450/600/750/900. The ORBIS 600 model has several advantages: equipped with 4 large discs, this header is the best option for harvesting both medium-height and high-growing crops.
Besides of the existing ORBIS 600 model, the new ORBIS 600 SD (SD means “small disc”) is equipped with 6 discs, 2 additional feed drums and 2 smaller discs, which replaced the 2 large outer discs. Due to small discs cut crops are constantly flowing into the drum. Large discs are installed in the center of the header and the use of them allows reversing the full load without any problems.
The new ORBIS model, just like the older ones, can be equipped with AUTO CONTOUR system for optimum ground contour following. All of the models are available with a standard or 3-speed transmission. Besides that, the new ORBIS 600 SD is notable for a low axle load, optimum visibility and low power requirements. Options for further optimization (for instance, installation of down-crop augers, wear skids, AUTO PILOT, etc.) are indisputable advantages of the new ORBIS 600 SD.
