The truck market has recently added new products from the European car manufacturer DAF - XF and CF 6x2 tractor unit. The manufacturer made sure that the new tractor will combine high load carrying capacity with high maneuverability. A distinctive feature of the produced tractors is a rear steering axle.
The new three-axle tractor units have a 7.5 tonne steered trailing rear axle with single tyres mounted behind the 11.5 tonne drive axle. Such opportunities will be of interest for the companies transporting construction materials and machinery. An additional advantage is the ability to set a loader crane along with the improved tractor’s maneuverability in confined spaces.
The CF tractor unit with a center steering axle is available with the Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Space Cab; the XF is available with the Space Cab and Super Space Cab.
Both new DAF CF and XF tractors can be equipped with 10.8 litre PACCAR MX-11 or 12.9 litre PACCAR MX-13 engines with capacity from 396 to 510 hp.
