Komatsu Ltd., the Japanese largest and the world’s second manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, has updated its WA500 wheel loader line with the new version, which has achieved number 8 at the end of a model name. Its beneficial rates are based on the comparison with the previous WA500-7 version.
The heart of the latest machine is a specially tailored Komatsu engine – SAA6D140E-7 Tier 4 Final that produces 357 hp. As a result of such an individual approach, the company engineers have managed to enable the engine system to perform 93% of diesel particulate filter regeneration passively without the need for operator’s interference. The engine features the brand’s SmartLoader Logic system that works with a lockup torque converter. It activates in the 2nd, 3d and 4th gears, providing just the right amount of torque and ensuring improvements to acceleration, hill-climbing and top speed.
The bucket capacity is increased up to 5,8 m3. Its structure allows the loader to fill the bucket with less required power output. Besides, it is better at holding the loads.
These are the main measures that boost the productivity and efficiency rates of the new wheel loader vehicle. The WA500-8 is designed for quarry and load/carry applications in combination with articulated dump trucks or smaller rigid trucks.
