A big name in construction machinery sector, Volvo CE has signed an integration agreement with Topcon Positioning Systems, a reputable manufacturer of precise survey equipment.
The mission of collaboration is a Topcon 3D machine control (3D-MC) technology solution. It is intended to seamlessly integrate with the 2D machine control technology (Volvo Dig Assist), currently used on Volvo excavators. Consequently, the Topcon 3D-MC solution will boost the Volvo Dig Assist efficiency by including the use of 3D design files and connectivity that operate on Topcon workflow solution platforms.
The present-day Dig Assist service allows excavator operators to perform digging tasks with a greater accuracy in less time. Also, it eliminates the necessity of getting out of the cab to physically check grades or levels.
But soon the system will enlarge its capabilities and both companies have already expressed the mutual excitement on this matter.
