The remarkable Swedish manufacturer has a remarkable year, celebrating the 125th anniversary. The festive mood is intensified by a strong construction upward trend, which is so topical for present-day Scania.
The company representatives claim that their quality is recognized as industry leading and their powertrains are the most fuel-efficient. By the way, the focus on the best possible total economy became a common thread for all new offers that were shown at Bauma exhibition in April.
The experts’ attention was drawn to both the construction vehicles and the industrial engines. The line-up of Stage V engines, which will be a must in 2019, consists of 3 platforms (9-litre, 13-litre and 16-litre) with the output ranging from 202 kW to 566 kW. It will definitely please those, who prefer to be ready for the new standards in advance.
What concerns new Scania trucks, the heavy-haulage R 730 with the V8 engine and 5 axles (10×4) performed as a headliner of all the offers. Its regular load capacity is 150 tonnes, but it can carry even more – 250 tonnes when permitted.
Other new models are notable for a lightweight chassis: a 3-sided tipper with a body made by Meiler – G 450 CB8x4 Euro VI and a concrete mixer – P 410 CB8x4 Euro VI.
