The Bavarian company Xaxoa GmbH has officially announced the launch of pre-orders for the luxury motorhome Magellano Edition 1, which is based on a Mercedes-Benz Actros truck. This is an unusual configuration for this kind of posh motorhomes, which typically look like coaches. The starting price for this piece of luxury is 680 000 euros.
The Mercedes-Benz Actros 1842 with a two-axle chassis and a Gigaspace cab suits the special task in the best way possible. The first two numbers in the model name stand for the full weight of the truck (18 tons), while the third and fourth numbers indicate the maximum power of a 12.7 engine (421 hp). The overall length, width and height of the Magellano Edition 1 motorhome comprise 10.6 m, 2.5 m and 3.99 m respectively. Moreover, two additional sections can be pulled out of the truck body, which is made of 50 mm sandwich panels, to increase the living space and accommodate up to 6-8 people. Needless to say, the truck is equipped with various state-of-the-art technologies from the inside.
