In connection with Freight in the City Expo, DAF Trucks is exhibiting a low-height 8×4 rigid tipper with the focus on improved visibility. In this regard, the truck manufacturer continues to promote a ‘ClearView’ passenger door window, debuted last year at the same event. Such a safety solution was developed in collaboration with Astra Vehicle Technologies known as a chassis conversion specialist, which appeared to expand its activity to modifying the cab doors design.
The showcased model is based on DAF successful CF series and features a low-mounted cab with a floor-height door window for the passenger side to guarantee a direct view of cyclists and pedestrians. Another key benefit is the possibility to open the main passenger door window. It allows drivers to have a better view of traffic in case of poor weather and to facilitate access to the mirrors for cleaning purposes. Also, this DAF eight-wheeler benefits from the Trailer Vision camera system, which provides the driver with a 360-degree view around the vehicle.
