The wait for the event that has been actively promoted since the beginning of 2016 is finally over. The grandiose showcase of a new Scania truck generation took place in Grand Palais in Paris in front of more than a thousand guests from 70 countries.
As for designer and engineers, they had a much longer wait. It took 10 years of development work and more than 2 billion euro of project costs to make their dream come true. But the result is definitely worth the efforts and costs. Apart from improving truck features, the new generation represents a comprehensive range of connected services, integrated with the brand’s workshop operations and customers’ businesses.
According to Scania’s President and CEO Henrik Henriksson, this is the most important company product launch ever. That is why they treat it as a real masterpiece and, probably, this is the reason for choosing such outstanding settings for the event as the legendary palace built for the fine arts in central Paris.
No doubt, the family of renowned Scania tractor units should be proud of the long awaited newborn.
