Not bad, but lacks durability

Commercial vehicles MAN TGM - 2007

I've been driving a 240HP TGM for three years, delivering construction materials. The D08 engine is a heavy-duty machine – it can even pull 12 tons uphill. The cabin is comfortable for its class, but the plastic parts wear out quickly. In winter, starting below -15°C can be difficult – a heater is required. Fuel consumption? 18-20L/100km on the road. For a company, it's a good choice, but not without its drawbacks.

MAN TGS 26.400 – a solid truck with a few shortcomings

I've been using a MAN TGS 26.400 for several months now in my transport company. The 400 hp engine provides excellent power even with heavy loads, and the drivetrain performs flawlessly. The cab is comfortable, and the spacious interior makes long trips less tiring. However, I've noticed that fuel consumption under full load is higher than I expected, which could be a drawback in the long run. Furthermore, for a truck of this class, spare parts are relatively expensive.

MAN F2000 – Solid companion, but not indestructible

I've been driving a used F2000 26.403 with a crane body for three years. It's rarely let me down, but it's showing its age. The gearshift is clunky, the cab is rather loud, but the engine is as tough as leather. Spare parts are easy to find on the used market. It's great for construction work and short distances, but not for those who like comfort. In snow, the lack of ESP is definitely noticeable. But it's okay for the price.

I got my F90 19.422 from old German army stocks – built in '94, 1 million km on it, and it runs. Sure, it's no comparison to modern trucks, but it's perfectly usable as a collector's vehicle with occasional transport jobs. The clutch and transmission require feel, the steering is direct and honest. No comfort, no assistance system, but you can still feel the road. For me, it's the last real truck – everything after that is a rolling computer.
