Capable of pushing, pulling, or demolition pretty much anything, bulldozers genuinely are the workhorses of any heavy equipment construction fleet.
Aside from construction, bulldozers can also be used for digging or trenching shallow ditches, transporting dirt, soil, or other aggregates, removing boulders, stumps, or entire trees, and simply clearing and leveling the ground.
Types Of Bulldozers
Most bulldozers you see on construction sites are known as production dozers. These heavy-duty machines are designed for grading vast amounts of rough terrain.
However, like most heavy-duty equipment, production bulldozers come in several weight classifications.
Small bulldozers typically weigh in at less than ten metric tons. These are usually used for smaller projects and upper layer, finished grades.
Medium-sized bulldozers weigh between 10 to 27 metric tons and can be used for virtually any type of grading, construction, or industrial applications.
Large bulldozers weigh more than 27 metric tons and are reserved for only the most robust, heavy-duty applications, such as open-pit surface mining.
Aside from their weight and size, bulldozers can be used with various configurations and blade attachments, each with its unique application, including:
- Crawler dozers
- Wheel Bulldozers
- Mini Bulldozers
- Straight blades (S-Blade)
- Universal blades(U-Blade)
- Angle Blades
- Power-Angle-Tilt (PAT) blades
