Vacuum trucks are produced as the modification of heavy-duty vehicles. Depending on the basis that holds the superstructure, the latter is classified according to the loading and power capacities of the pumping unit.
- the length and the diameter of the corrugated tube (including the possibility of building it up);
- the suction force (there are models that benefit from the system with an intermediate storage reservoir and a vacuum pump);
- the unloading technique, as well as the cleaning system of the reservoir and branch pipes;
- the availability of the hydraulic lift for the compaction and unloading of the material onboard;
- the drift diameter of the pump and the availability of the back-pressure valve for the complete disconnection of the tube from the reservoir).
The largest models that come on the basis of the 15-tonne vehicles are equipped with stationary sludge digestion tanks to clean the contents of the main reservoir.
