brand: BMW; type: RT; description: > In the early 80s, BMW developed a new series of air/oil-cooled boxers, with high-tech characteristics at the time. After the K 100, their clients seemed to appreciate that. The R 1100 series was born, with an entire machine basically suspended from the engine and a barely present frame. Extremely light, ergonomic and rather narrow. You also sit low, behind a strongly rising tank. The front suspension was revolutionary and the first successful design to separate steering and spring functions there (resulting in an automatic anti-diving effect). An R 1150 R is then the more stripped-down version of BMW's R 1150 series, which succeeded the 1100. In 2001 it appeared on the market, simultaneously with the RT, and because of its character equipped with two oil coolers (left and right, above both cylinders) neatly concealed in caps that connect to the tank. The design was modernized, including a high rising front fender. An R has the same engine as the GS, equipped with new five-spoke alloy wheels. The six-speed gearbox was available in two versions, with the difference only in sixth gear, because it could serve as an overdrive for real 'touring'. The spring elements were improved over the R 1100 R, and the rear wheel became smaller (17" instead of 18). Our handsome R 1150 R is in correct condition and, according to the documentation, seems to have stood still (protected) for a long time. So, moderate to normal traces of use (but during a Viewing you can form your own important opinion) and comes with a Belgian registration certificate, a C.o.C. Certificate of Conformity, plus the Manuals & the Maintenance Booklet (fully completed). The delivery is by default a collection, which takes place in HASSELT and must be requested in advance (also via the same e-mail address, in the first instance). Remember that when it comes to old-timers, project cars or vehicles that stand still for a while, you will pick up well prepared.
