Question 1

How does AmaSelect nozzle control reduce input waste?

Accepted Answer

The AmaSelect system reduces input waste by providing individual, remote-controlled switching of nozzles arranged in 50 cm part-width sections. This high resolution minimizes overlaps in wedge-shaped fields and on headlands, leading to significant savings in plant protection products and fertilizer. It also allows for automatic nozzle switching based on forward speed and target rate to maintain optimal droplet size.

Question 2

What are the depth adjustment specifications for a Catros disc harrow?

Accepted Answer

Amazone Catros compact disc harrows feature a working depth range typically from 5 cm to 14 cm, suitable for shallow stubble cultivation. Adjustment can be performed mechanically via setting clips or hydraulically from the tractor cab for on-the-fly modifications. This system is designed for simple, tool-less changes to adapt quickly to varying soil conditions and residue levels.

Question 3

What are the rules for a VAT-free (0%) purchase for EU agri-businesses?

Accepted Answer

An agricultural business registered for VAT in one EU member state can purchase machinery from another EU country at a 0% VAT rate through the reverse-charge mechanism. This intra-community supply requires the buyer to provide a valid EU VAT identification number to the seller. The buyer is then responsible for accounting for the VAT in their own country's tax return according to local regulations.

Question 4

How can I check calibration test records on a used seed drill via Truck1?

Accepted Answer

Calibration test records for used Amazone seed drills are typically stored within the machine's ISOBUS terminal, such as an AMATRON 4 or AmaPad. When inspecting a unit listed on Truck1, a buyer should request that the seller accesses the operational data or performs a live calibration test during the viewing. This provides verifiable evidence of the metering unit's accuracy and the machine's maintenance history.
