Question 1

How does the Haulotte Activ'Shield Bar enhance operator safety?

Accepted Answer

The Haulotte Activ'Shield Bar 2.0 is a secondary guarding device designed to mitigate the risk of operator entrapment or crushing. When an operator is pushed against the bar, it immediately stops all machine movements, creating a 'safety gap' to protect the operator. The system allows for controlled reverse movement to disengage from the obstacle, providing a critical safety function that complies with industry best practices for MEWP operation.

Question 2

What are the key features of the Haulotte PULSEO Generation?

Accepted Answer

The PULSEO Generation is Haulotte's line of all-electric rough-terrain (RT) aerial work platforms. Key features include a 100% electric architecture with AC motors for 4-wheel drive and steering, providing performance comparable to diesel counterparts in off-road conditions. These models offer silent operation for low-disturbance work areas and can be equipped with a range-extender diesel engine for hybrid functionality, enabling continuous operation and battery recharging in remote locations.

Question 3

What safety certifications are standard for Haulotte platforms in Europe?

Accepted Answer

Haulotte platforms sold and operated within the European Union must conform to rigorous safety standards. The primary certification is the CE marking, which indicates compliance with EU legislation. Specifically, these Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) are designed and manufactured in accordance with the EN 280 standard, which details the technical safety requirements for design, stability, construction, and testing.

Question 4

What should be checked on a used electric Haulotte lift?

Accepted Answer

When inspecting a used electric Haulotte lift, the battery system is a critical component. It is essential to check the battery health, which can often be accessed through the onboard diagnostic system, to view total charge cycles and any fault codes. A physical inspection for corrosion on terminals and proper water levels in lead-acid batteries is also necessary. Additionally, verify the functionality of the onboard charger and inspect the AC electric drive motors for signs of wear or damage.
