Question 1

What are the key advantages of Jungheinrich's Li-Ion battery technology?

Accepted Answer

Jungheinrich's Li-Ion technology provides high energy efficiency and is completely maintenance-free, eliminating the need for costly battery-changing infrastructure. It allows for extremely fast charging cycles, often reaching a full charge in under 90 minutes, which maximizes equipment uptime in multi-shift operations. The technology also offers a significantly longer service life, typically three times that of a conventional lead-acid battery, ensuring a lower total cost of ownership.

Question 2

How does the Jungheinrich jetPILOT steering system improve operator control?

Accepted Answer

The jetPILOT is an electric multifunction steering wheel that provides automotive-style handling and intuitive control for reach trucks and order pickers. It automatically centres when the operator is not actively steering, enhancing stability and safety, especially at higher travel speeds. This design improves ergonomic comfort and allows for precise, single-handed control of travel and mast functions simultaneously, increasing operational efficiency.

Question 3

What are the VAT implications when exporting used Jungheinrich electric forklifts from the EU?

Accepted Answer

When a business registered within the EU purchases a used Jungheinrich forklift from a dealer in another EU member state, the transaction can typically be processed as an intra-community supply, exempt from VAT (0% VAT rate), provided both parties have valid VAT identification numbers. For exports to non-EU countries, the sale is generally zero-rated for VAT, but the exporter must provide customs documentation proving the equipment has permanently left the EU territory. It is crucial to verify the specific cross-border tax regulations applicable to the transaction.

Question 4

How can the battery State of Health (SOH) of a used Jungheinrich Li-Ion forklift be verified on Truck1?

Accepted Answer

When evaluating a used Jungheinrich Li-Ion unit on Truck1, buyers should request a battery diagnostic report from the seller. This report, generated from the forklift's onboard Battery Management System (BMS), provides the exact SOH as a percentage, the total number of charge cycles, and any recorded fault codes. Reputable dealers will often provide this documentation proactively in the listing or upon request, as the SOH is a critical factor in determining the battery's remaining operational life and the unit's overall value.
