Question 1

How versatile is the Krone Multi Bolt cargo securing system?

Accepted Answer

The Krone Multi Bolt system is highly versatile due to its modular, bolted design which allows for flexible positioning of lashing points along the external frame. It offers numerous fastening options, with up to 130 pairs of lashing rings, each rated for 2,500 daN. This adaptability makes it suitable for securing a wide variety of freight shapes and sizes in compliance with European standards.

Question 2

What are the primary benefits of the Krone eTrailer's electric axle?

Accepted Answer

The primary benefit of the Krone eTrailer's electric axle is significant fuel and CO2 reduction for the tractor unit. The system uses regenerative braking to capture kinetic energy, storing it in a battery to power the trailer's axle. This electric assistance can reduce the tractor's fuel consumption by 20-40%, depending on the operating conditions and topography.

Question 3

How do 0% VAT rules apply to EU logistics companies purchasing trailers?

Accepted Answer

For a business-to-business transaction within the EU, the 0% VAT rule (intra-community supply) can apply when a logistics company in one EU member state purchases a trailer from a dealer in another. This requires both the buyer and seller to have valid, verifiable VAT identification numbers registered in the VIES (VAT Information Exchange System). The goods must also be physically transported from the seller's country to the buyer's country.

Question 4

What should be inspected on a used Krone curtain-sider from a Truck1 listing?

Accepted Answer

When inspecting a used Krone curtain-sider, it is critical to examine the condition of the tarpaulin for tears, abrasions, and UV degradation. Check the functionality of the curtain rollers and the tensioning mechanisms, including the buckles and straps. If it features an EasyTarp system, verify its smooth operation, as repairs can be costly. Finally, assess the chassis for any signs of corrosion, particularly around the welded joints and axle mounts.
