Question 1

How does the New Holland Twin Rotor system impact grain quality?

Accepted Answer

The New Holland Twin Rotor system uses centrifugal force for threshing and separation, as opposed to the impact-based action of a conventional drum and concave system. This results in a gentler, grain-on-grain threshing process. Consequently, it significantly reduces the incidence of cracked or broken kernels, preserving high grain quality and market value, which is particularly critical for seed crops or food-grade grains.

Question 2

What connectivity options are available with New Holland's PLM Intelligence?

Accepted Answer

PLM Intelligence offers multiple connectivity layers for comprehensive data management. Onboard, it supports ISOBUS Class 3, allowing implements to control tractor functions like speed and steering. Off-board, data is synced wirelessly to the MyPLM Connect web portal for farm and fleet management, with options for file transfer via a built-in 4G modem or a standard USB drive for manual data handling.

Question 3

What are the logistical considerations for transporting New Holland combine headers?

Accepted Answer

Transporting wide New Holland combine headers, such as the 12.5-meter Varifeed™ models, requires careful logistical planning. Due to road width restrictions, these headers must be transported on a specialized header trailer towed behind the combine or a separate vehicle. Operators must account for the overall transport length and width, secure the header according to manufacturer guidelines, and ensure all road lighting and signaling equipment on the trailer is functional to comply with traffic regulations.

Question 4

How can I check the AdBlue (DEF) consumption of a New Holland machine on a Truck1 listing?

Accepted Answer

While a precise consumption rate is difficult to verify remotely, you can gather indicative data from Truck1 listings. Scrutinize photos of the IntelliView monitor for a clear view of the AdBlue (DEF) gauge level relative to the diesel level and total engine hours. Ask the seller directly for data on recent DEF refill intervals against operating hours; a typical consumption rate is 2-5% of diesel consumption, and significant deviation could indicate an issue with the SCR system.
