Question 1

What is the typical digging accuracy of Volvo Co-Pilot with Dig Assist?

Accepted Answer

The Volvo Co-Pilot system, when running the Dig Assist 3D application with a GNSS receiver, achieves digging accuracy within 2-3 centimeters. This level of precision allows operators to excavate complex designs, slopes, and trenches without the need for traditional survey stakes or manual grade checking. The system uses real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning to ensure consistent accuracy, significantly increasing site productivity and reducing rework.

Question 2

How fuel-efficient are Volvo D-series Stage V engines?

Accepted Answer

Volvo D-series Stage V engines achieve high fuel efficiency through a combination of high-torque, low-RPM design, advanced fuel injection, and integrated machine operating modes. Features like Eco Mode can reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% without significant performance loss in many applications. Furthermore, the auto-engine shutdown function and hydraulic system optimization contribute to lower overall fuel burn compared to previous engine generations.

Question 3

What are the transport requirements for Volvo articulated haulers?

Accepted Answer

Transport logistics for Volvo articulated haulers depend on the model size and local regulations. Models up to the A40G often have a transport width under 3.5 meters, allowing them to be moved on a standard low-bed trailer in many EU countries, though permits may be required. Larger models like the A60H, with a width exceeding 4.5 meters and a weight over 40 tonnes, require specialized multi-axle trailers, escort vehicles, and specific transport permits due to their dimensions.

Question 4

How can a buyer verify engine hours versus idle hours on Truck1 listings?

Accepted Answer

Buyers can verify hours by requesting a data report from the machine's telematics system, often Volvo's CareTrack. Many professional dealers on Truck1 provide these reports in their listings or upon request. The report clearly differentiates between total engine-on hours and idle hours, providing a critical indicator of how hard the machine has worked versus simply being left running, which is crucial for assessing wear on components like the DPF and hydraulic systems.
