Daf has announced production startup of two new models of trucks CF and LF Euro-6, which were designed for construction sector: CF Construction and LF Construction. Moreover, if the construction modifications were produced in CF family before, the corresponding kind of machines based on the popular light-duty LF will see the world for the first time. The Dutch promise that the new machines will feature the ease of use, low maintenance cost and general rationality of design.
The first specialty of CF Construction and LF Construction is enhanced ground clearance and ramp angle, which is, however, not surprising for construction machines, as there are always special requirements sets to their maneuverability. In addition, Daf decided to pay special attention to the vehicles’ design. The appearance of the new trucks is supposed to literally “radiate" power and determination, according to the constructors’ idea. New front grille with built-in fog lamps and large wings, which consist of three parts, and each of these parts can be replaced individually, and new bumper made of galvanized steel are supposed to make corresponding impression.
CF Construction will be supplied with two embodiments of the chassis. First of all, a rigid chassis wheel formula 6x4, which is intended to be used both on construction trucks and also for transportation of wood. Second of all, rigid chassis with the wheel formula 8x4, designed for dump trucks and concrete mixers.
Two models of engines will serve for CF Construction power pack: PACCAR MX-13 with a capacity of 12.9 liters and develops 410-510 hp and PACCAR MX-11, with a capacity of 10.8 liters and develops 290 - 440 hp. LF Construction truck will be equipped with engines PACCAR PX-7, with a capacity of 6.7 liters and developing 220-310 hp.
